Oracle Data Analyst

 Our client are looking for an Oracle Data Analyst to assist with the development of reporting requirements and system verification testing / support for their in-house projects being deployed across the UK and Europe.  

The role will include: 

• Analysing and improving reporting systems and processes
• Collation and preparation of data
• Data integrity checking and auditing of data on the system
• Querying of Oracle database tables using SQL
• UAT script development and testing
• Liaison with key stakeholders
• Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents
• Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.

Candidates will be familiar with Oracle SQL, experienced in writing queries and developing reporting solutions against an Oracle database without the use of third party toolsets. 

The team is small and highly focussed and the successful candidate will need to understand the business logic so that the application logic and output can be validated.  

You must be able to meet deadlines whilst maintaining quality, and good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. You will be methodical, reliable and accurate, and a team player with the drive to help us ensure that development is to specification, of high quality, and completed on time. 

This role is based in South Wales, but may necessitate occasional travel. Some on-call and out of hours cover may be required to support clients.  

Essential Skills: 

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Minimum of 3 years experience creating complex SQL statements in an Oracle environment
• Proficient in the use of Oracle PL/SQL
• Advanced level experience of reporting using Excel Pivot Tables and connecting to external data sources using MS Query or similar products
• Ability to communicate at all levels and be able to convert user and management requirements into actionable plans and solutions
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

• Exposure to Oracle Forms and Reports
• Experience of delivering Business Intelligence based solutions in a corporate environment.
