The Job…

• Deputising for editor in absence
• Mentoring junior members of the team
• Newsletter sign-off
• Optimising content for SEO
• Social Networking – creation, seeding and maintenance of communities
• Social Commerce – driving visits and/or conversion through the use of social commerce
• Copyright issues
• Building image banks
• Conversant with Content Management Systems
• Team management skills
• Strong sub-editing skills a must with proven track record
• Role also required the deputy to produce content; eg articles, blogs, videos
• Able to make decisions and escalate when appropriate

The Person…

The ideal candidate would:

• Be someone who can work at a very fast pace and able to juggle multiple projects whilst delivering quality results
• Have demonstrable exemplary levels of literacy, accuracy and attention to detail preferably gained from editing or sub-editing on a national newspaper or magazine
• Have an excellent nose for a news story and a wide grasp of current financial affairs including motoring and personal finance
• Experience of commissioning content including copy, video, podcasts, infographics, widgets and all things multimedia
• Have managed and developed online communities through forums and blogs
• Have an understanding of SEO and experience of shooting and editing online video

Duration:       Permanent

Hours:           09:00am -17:00pm Monday to Friday

Salary:           Up to £35k

Location:       Cardiff
